Houston Challengers Volleyball Training – Winter Fest 2026–2027

Skills training for boys and girls in Grade 5 and above — passing, serving, setting and hitting in small squads.

About this program

Our volleyball training program builds fundamentals and confidence in small squads of about ten players, each guided by a group leader under the supervision of a head coach.

Players rotate through passing, serving, setting and hitting stations and finish each session with small-sided games.

A typical session

What a session looks like, using 12:00 PM as the start.

  1. 12:00 PM–12:15 PMTeam warm-up2 laps around the court, 5 push-ups
  2. 12:15 PM–12:45 PMUnderarm passing5–6 groups, each with a group leader
  3. 12:45 PM–1:00 PMFinger passing5–6 groups, each with a group leader; identify strong setters
  4. 1:00 PM–1:05 PMWater break
  5. 1:05 PM–1:20 PMServingUse both sides of the court
  6. 1:20 PM–1:40 PMHitting
  7. 1:40 PM–1:55 PMDrills
  8. 1:55 PM–2:00 PMWrap-upCoach’s briefing and preview of the next session
